We enjoyed a great February day at Monticello. There is a nice visitor center / education center / gift shop at the parking location. A shuttle bus takes you to the mountain top where Jefferson’s home is located. We were free to walk about the grounds, viewing the dependencies, and gardens. Of course, since it was in February, there was not much to see in the gardens. We went on the guided tour of the home at our alloted time. It is really quite amazing the clever designs that Jefferson used.
